Why doesn’t the NFL get rid of the Pro Bowl?
asigone asked:
They can’t decide if they want to move it to before the Super Bowl. Most players don’t go anyway. Why not have one less preseason game and skip the pro-bowl. They could make the regular season 18 games. Instead of the pro-bowl they could just do the skills challenges. I’d rather watch a quarterback challenge over the pro-bowl anyway.

I have a suggestion…why not leave the preseason the way it is and just get rid of the Pro Bowl?

I think it would be stupid to play before the superbowl. theres too much of a risk of a superbowl team player to get injured, for what?

It is pretty pointless. Same NBA All Star game. I do enjoy watching the 3-Point Contest and Dunk Contest and I also like watching the Home Run Derby. If they keep it they should make something pointful of it like the MLB All Star game. The winning league gets home field advantage in the World Series.
I can proudly say I’ve never watched the Pro Bowl.

I think the Pro Bowl is a good thing to have. It rewards the players that did good that season. I think having it before the Super Bowl would be way too distracting and pretty annoying in my opinion. I would hate to waste a week watching the pro bowl before the superbowl. And I believe they do have skills challenges the day before the pro bowl.
I think if anything should go it should be a couple preseason games.

good question!
i think that they should get rid of the pro bowl its not like it proves anything because like you say most of the players dont even show up. i think that they should have a longer season. they still need the preseason so the backups can show everyone their skills!

The pro bowl is a money maker for the NFL and as such it will not be going away. It’s also well attended by the players and coaches from the NFL and attended by many pro stars and coaches from other great sports. As for 18 season games, that’s not happening any time soon. This game is also geared more towards the fans similar to the baseball ALL STAR GAME.

i definatly agree. its not like the NHL All Star Game where they have both a game and a skills test. I don’t know many people that get excited for the pro bowl either. Ive watch parts of it once or twice, but does anyone really care who wins? If they had a skills test, way more people would watch. Who wouldn’t watch Adrian Peterson going 1 on 1 with Urlacher? That’d be sweet. Plus, if they made more regular season games, thats would be better too. I’d much rather watch a game where stats, points, and performance really matter. It looks like the pro bowl is just a game for players from other teams to chill.

NFL is big on tradition and I think that is why they still have the pro bowl. And I think they want to move it so they can get more ratings. But I agree, the pro bowl should be nixed.

The NFL gets alot of money off of it… thats the only reason why

The Pro bowl is a joke,no player is going to expose his future going all out and maybe getting hurt, and owners will not tolerate for their million dollar investments to maybe be out for the season,so the pro bowl means nothing
