We have often debated the merits of the black quarterback…but, in an election year that MAY see a black man assend to the highest office in the land. Does that somehow change/unaffect your opinion of the black quarterback in the NFL? Has it been lack of opportunities, wrong people in the wrong situation, bias, what in your opinion is the deal? One thing is obvious, in 2008 all are all intelligent enough to play this game but we are kidding ourselves if we don’t acknowledge the stigma.
I asked this question because I believe for every Warren Moon there is a Steve Largent. And that, given the opportunity any race can do any job…football field included. But in the last few weeks, I have seen troubling comments from intelligent people regarding this topic and I was simply pointing out that if a black man could run America, certainly he could run a pro-set.

Brad asked: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=cr-rankings032408prov=yhootype=lgns
In these recent power rankings, the Ravens were rated the 29th best team in the NFL. I think this is basically the consensus of where the Ravens rank, but I don’t understand why.
Yes, Steve McNair is done, but I’d be surprised if he steps on the field for the Ravens again. Kyle Boller is probably around the 30th-35th best quarterback in the NFL. At times, he looks like a superstar, but at other times he looks lost. However, the Ravens also have Troy Smith, who looked great last year. They’ve got an elite RB Willis McGahee.
Last year, the Ravens were savaged by injuries to their recievers (Heap, Clayton, and Williams).
I don’t buy into the claims that the defense is old either. There were many defenders who were hurt last year (McAllister, Rolle, Pryce, Lewis) and Suggs and Scott had off years.
Why is an elite team that was derailed by injuries ranked as one of the worst teams in the NFL?

What other current nfl quarterbacks have accomplished that?Although he isnt the starter this year, since Kerry Collins is doing well. Wondering if any other QB in the league right now can say that too!

I have just noticed that i have NEVER seen ANY team run the option in the NFL..Has anyone else noticed this? Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia runs the triples option spread, with 3 wide receivers to isolate the quarterback/running back with the slower linebacker, and it works very well.

My choices are
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Rex Grossman
How the hell can you guys pick Michael Vick? Im a huge Vick fan cuz I’m originally from Atlanta and I am a Falcons fan but just because he has ’started’ to prove himself as a passer doesn’t make him the top three……Pick those who prove themselves week in and week out….not just the past two weeks like Vick has done…..best athletic QB? Vick hands down!

The New England Pats were caught filming other teams especally their defensive plays and use them for their advantage. Because of that, it made Tom Brady look like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Do you think he is still the best ever?

Last I checked, he has a career record south of .500. What is really evident though, is the disparity between the haves and the have-nots of quarterbacks in the NFL. But, prove me wrong Frerotte! Make me a believer.
